Chateau Bechereau has been family-owned since the early 19th century and has vineyards in Neac on excellent clay soils. Half of the wine is fermented in stainless steel before aging in oak barrels for 12 months, the other half fermented in oak. This combination creates a classic, medium-bodied claret with a good balance of black fruits, toasty notes, and some sweet spice.
Pair with: Strong French cheese. Choose carefully with blues as tannin can alter the flavor of the Penicillium roqueforti.
Our Perfect Cheeseboard: Cantel, Comté Fort Saint Antoine AOC, Dried Fruit & Nuts.
